Training Time! A New Lens for Seeing Eating Disorders (March 2020)

March 12th
9:00am – 10:30am

Envision Counseling Clinic
734 Wilcox St.  Suite 202
(Right above Crowfoot Valley Coffee)
Castle Rock, CO 80104

You’ll hear a brief review of the basics  and go more in-depth on how eating disorders show up in unsuspecting ways. You’ll explore the adaptive functions of eating disorders and dive into the research of sub-populations where we tend to see eating disorders flourish.  Learn best practices for assessing and screening for eating disorders, as well as helpful language to use with individuals who have eating disorders.  And as all private practitioners want to know – you’ll get guidelines on when to refer to a higher level of care.

Our speaker:  Brittany Sims, LPC, CEDS (certified eating disorder specialist) Primary Therapist at EDCare.  Brittany has worked in the field of eating disorders since 2011. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at the University of Colorado at Boulder and her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education at the University of Colorado at Denver (Go Buffs!).

ALSO – Join our FACEBOOK group “Castle Rock Therapist Network” so we can start posting things on there like – office space available or referrals needed or I need a lunch break – anyone care to join?
